42nd Street's Connie Terwilliger began her video production career at
WMT-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after graduating from Coe College with a degree
in Psychology and Fine Art. A year at that CBS affiliate doing a little
bit of everything convinced her that the video business would have lots
of opportunities for growth. Using her on-the-job experience as a springboard,
Connie worked for WTIU-TV as a director, producer and on-camera talent,
while earning her Masters in Telecommunications from Indiana
University. Because Connie believed that graduate school was about
all work and no play, she also did a radio air-shift at WGTC-FM.
Degree in hand, Connie fled the cold weather and headed to San Diego,
where after a short full-time production position at KFMB-TV in San Diego,
Connie elected to take a part-time position with the station as a Booth
Announcer in order to pursue opportunities as an Independent Producer/Writer,
as well as On and Off-camera Talent.
After several years producing and writing commercials and non-broadcast
in San Diego and Los Angeles, Connie was offered a full-time position as
Senior Writer/Producer at General Dynamics/Convair. She was named Employee
of the Year in 1987 and was subsequently promoted to Supervisor, overseeing
the 16 member department -- a department soon to be decimated by downsizing.
By the end of 1994, the department closed and Connie returned to independent
status, starting 42nd Street Creative Services.
Connie initially re-established herself as a producer and writer --
providing a quality product at a reasonable cost in a timely (often amazingly
fast, actually) manner. Her client list includes: SAIC, Mail Boxes, Etc.,
Pyxis, Odetics, the US Navy, Emerald Publications and Scripps.
More recently, Connie has been focusing her
skills toward the creative side of the business - focusing on voice talent, as
well as providing Creative Consultation and Script Doctoring services
